Welcome to the Red Hawk Rumble Baseball Tournament, one of Michigan's fastest-growing youth baseball events, held in the heart of the Thumb region. What began in 2024 as a fundraiser for the Cass City High School Baseball Program has quickly become a premier destination tournament for travel baseball teams throughout Michigan and beyond.
The Red Hawk Rumble was created to support the continued growth of the Cass City High School Baseball Program, while showcasing the outstanding facilities developed through decades of dedication from the Cass City Area Summer Athletic Program (CCASAP), the Village of Cass City, and countless community supporters.
Built on the successful format of CCASAP’s Fun in the Thumb Rec All-Star Tournament, the Red Hawk Rumble combines competitive baseball with a family-friendly atmosphere, welcoming A - AA level travel teams across multiple age divisions, while also providing a local platform for the Michigan Firehawks Organization, established in 2023.
Since its inaugural year featuring 24 teams, the Red Hawk Rumble has experienced tremendous growth. In 2025, the tournament expanded to more than 80 teams across ages 8U–15U. In 2026, the event reached another major milestone, welcoming 93 teams and becoming the largest baseball tournament in Michigan's Thumb region.
To accommodate this growth and provide the best possible experience for players and families, the tournament continues to expand its facilities. In 2026, additional turf pitching mounds were purchased for the 13U division, and satellite locations were expanded to include Gagetown Village Park, along with a the Kingston High School Softball Field—further strengthening regional collaboration and showcasing the Thumb area's commitment to youth sports. These additions enhanced field quality, increased scheduling flexibility, and allowed the tournament to continue to deliver a first-class experience.
As we prepare for 2027, our goal is to welcome more than 100 teams and continue building a tournament known for outstanding competition, quality facilities, and unmatched community support. Teams can expect multiple well-maintained venues, exciting daytime and evening games, and the possibility of Friday afternoon start times to maximize tournament play opportunities throughout the weekend.
The Red Hawk Rumble is more than just a baseball tournament. It is a community event featuring food vendors, activities for families, games under the lights, and a fun, energetic atmosphere that players and spectators look forward to year after year.
Most importantly, every team that participates helps ensure continued growth adn excellence for future generations of athletes. All proceeds are reinvested into the Cass City High School Baseball Program and CCASAP, with a primary focus on facility and complex upgrades and continued development of our local athletic complexes for generations of athletes to come.
Whether you are a player, coach, parent, or fan, we invite you to experience everything the Red Hawk Rumble has to offer. Thank you for being part of a growing tradition that celebrates competition, sportsmanship, and community pride.
Let the Rumble begin!
Sincerely, Morgan Erla
